Nestled in the mountains of Tennessee, only an hour away from Nashville, is this cozy treehouse in McEwen, Tennessee. Serenity House was the perfect weekend retreat to celebrate our anniversary. It is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Serenity House allows you to disconnect from your busy life and reconnect with one another. The treehouse is secluded and provides ample privacy from the other portions of the property. In addition to the treehouse, you have access to your own fire pit which provides even more comfort to the already cozy atmosphere. The large deck at the front of the treehouse is perfect for morning coffee.
We visited the treehouse in July of 2022 and enjoyed all of the amenities that were offered. The property itself is off the beaten path and has a fishing pond, trails, and animals you can see during your visit. The farm is called the Rock ‘N Refuge and you can find them on social media.
We appreciated the fully-stocked kitchen. We brought our groceries with us as the nearest grocery store to the treehouse is quite a distance away. The french press and coffee provided by the hosts were perfect as we spent our morning on the front porch. There’s something about sipping your morning coffee on your front porch that makes it taste that much better.
We spent our days connecting by playing board games together, we took full advantage of the Uno cards provided by the hosts. We hadn’t laughed that much together in a while. We explored the property which included a pond for fishing and swimming. Don’t forget to pack your fishing pole! We had time to read, cook, relax, and catch up on some sleep. We were able to fully connect to one another as there was no internet, no TV, and very little cell phone service.
In the evenings, we enjoyed our private fire pit where wood and a lighter were provided. The crackling fire provided to the peacefulness of the area. This is a place of comfort for us… the sound of a crackling fire and the chirps of the crickets is a sound that brings us back to our childhood. Those sounds could drown out any troubles you had lingering. We were able to enjoy smores and wine at the fire. In addition to the fire pit, is two swings located directly under the porch which provided even more to the already relaxing atmosphere.
The bed in the loft was quite cozy and had plenty of room. The windows located on the roof of the treehouse above the bed provided a great view of the night sky. We stargazed from the queen bed every night. We will note that the bedroom in the loft area is only accessible by a ladder. There is a pull-down bed in the living room area if you feel you cannot access the bed in the loft area due to the ladder.
Serenity House exceeded our expectations and we would love to stay here again! There are a few more important things to know. Check-in is super flexible and begins after 2:00 PM. Check-out is at 10:00 AM; however, talk with the hosts, who are beyond nice, if you need a later check-out time. This treehouse is self check-in with details provided by the hosts shortly before your arrival. For safety and security purposes, we will not disclose those details and allow the hosts to share that information. This treehouse is pet friendly and requires a $40 pet fee.

Sperry’s is on of our favorite places to eat in Nashville and it is only an hour away from Serenity House. We took one evening to have a nice dinner, shop, and watch a movie in Nashville.
We are always blown away by the quality of food here and how sweet the staff is. Every dish is delicious, from the salad bar to the dessert. Make your reservation and we can assure you, you won’t be disappointed!
